CUSTARD:
4 cups whole milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1 vanilla bean (or 1 ounce extract)
6 large eggs
4 large egg yolks
1 large loaf of French bread or
day old croissants cut into cubes.
Steep vanilla in sauce pan with
sugar and milk.
Add heated Vanilla Milk to eggs while
whisking briskly to make custard.
Toss custard with bread crumbs and
Bake at 300 degrees in buttered individual
ramekins or a glass baking dish for one hour.
