THE THRILL OF THE GRILL
We are changing gears fast now. Try to keep up. Last month we featured vanilla and its subtle addition to both sweet and savory foods. Now we honor all of the fathers out there by featuring BOLD and SMOKEY flavors that are synonymous with GRILLING. No disrespect to our favorite four legged friends, as I have an eight year old beauty of the black lab variety, but until they can turn a choice piece of meat into a succulent meal worth inviting friends and neighbors over for, dogs might have to take the back burner to MAN'S REAL BEST FRIEND: THE GRILL. Have you ever tried to place YOUR FAVORITE BEVERAGE on your FAVORITE CANINE? Not Pretty! With a GRILL..NO PROBLEM. But do not hesitate to share some of that grilled loving with MAN'S OTHER BEST FRIEND, as the love they return is surely worthy of some grill scraps or a tasty bone. Grilling was probably the first way food was cooked, and after thousands of years it is still the most popular way of cooking. GRILLING IS EASY AND FUN, and still featured in most cultures. The clean up is relatively easy and Grilling is HEALTHY due to the lack of saturated fats involved with sautéing and frying.
For ANY MOM'S OUT THERE or adult kids, we have some great suggestions for FATHER'S DAY GIFTS..
1. BUY DAD A NEW GRILL or at least some NEW ACCESSORIES if his grill is in good shape.
2. TAKE DAD TO THE COBBLESTONE CAFÉ for our FABULOUS FATHER'S DAY BRUNCH which will feature GRILLED SPECIALTIES and FOODS THAT DAD LOVES, including A FREE BEER FOR DAD, and COMPLIMENTARY MIMOSA FOR MOM.

Tips on Grilling
-
The most important thing is to rest any grilled meats at least 10 minutes before eating. This allows the natural juices to be reabsorbed into the meat, leaving it more tender and flavorful.
-
Keep your grill very clean with a good grill brush and clean damp towel to clean any remaining buildup.
-
Grill your favorite vegetables using balsamic vinaigrette as a marinade.
-
Use your favorite steak sauce diluted with water as a marinade.
